The main component of Pyrroloquinoline Quinone disodium salt is pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ), which is an aromatic tricyclic o-quinone compound. It is known as the king of immunity and is the strongest antioxidant substance currently known in the world.
The physiological functions of PQQ that have been discovered include protecting mitochondria, promoting growth, regulating energy metabolism, affecting nerve function, improving heart function, improving diabetes and complications, etc.
PQQ is safe as a supplement. In 2012, Health CaNADa (HC) approved PQQ as a natural health food.
In 2016, PQQ obtained the "GRAS" certification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and can be used as a raw material in energy drinks, sports drinks, electrolyte drinks and other foods.
In addition, PQQ has been certified by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) and the European Commission (EFSA).
